Thank you to all those that attended the Junior Information Evening on March 21st and to all apologies sent in.
There was a great turnout and lots of new activities are planned for 2019. We hope to see as many Juniors as possible down in the club playing with their friends, families and participating in a variety of our activities planned for this year from both the Junior Parent Committee and Junior Captain's Committee.
Below is information on the U13 Mentor Programme and Gaisce that we will need Juniors to sign up to and attached is the presentation from Rob Cherry and links to drills ideas for the practice wall in Elm Park.
U13 Mentor Programme:
Julie Ann Haugh and Gillian Ridgeway with the assistance of Jessica Mc Cormack will be running the U13 Mentor Programme for 2019.
The purpose of the programme is to encourage the U13 boys and girls to come down to Elm Park frequently to play social tennis with friends and participate in a variety of activities run by the Junior Parent Committee and Director of Tennis. . They will need to manage their Log Books by filling in details after each competition and friendly match, and ask their parents to send a photo of the log book to their individual mentors in the first weeks of May, July, August, October and January.
If your child would like to be involved in the U13 Mentor Programme and is born between the dates of 2004 – 2008, please can you sign them up in the link below
There are a number of places that will be available in the Junior Coaching Programme for Juniors who are going into Transition year in September 2019, who would like to participate in the Gaisce Awards and would like tennis to be one of their skill set.
The places will be available from Term 1 September to December, Term 2 & Term 3, January – June.
Places are limited to members only and will be given out on a first come first served basis. As part of the Gaisce program members will be expected to partake in other tennis based activities throughout the year. There will be a wide range of options to choose from. For example participants may want to play in one of the championship tournaments as well as play some round robin matches with the other members taking part in the Gaisce programme.
If your son/daughter is going into transition year in September 2019 and would like to include tennis as part of their skill please register their interest in the link below.
